Need help?
Help with Mac DLNA Server: questions, technical issues, purchases and licenses. Check the quick answers or write to us with the form.
Before you write, try this
- Restart the app and make sure your Mac and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Update to the latest version from the download page — many issues are already fixed.
- If you use the Lite edition, remember it has a 3-hour daily streaming limit.
Frequently asked questions
Is it a subscription like Plex?
No. The Pro edition is a one-time purchase: buy it once and it’s yours forever, with every feature unlocked. The Lite edition is free with a limit of 3 hours of streaming per day.
Which TVs are supported?
Any Smart TV or device with DLNA/UPnP: Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips, Panasonic, Xbox consoles and players like VLC. The server implements the full protocol, including subtitles and artwork.
Do my files leave my Mac?
Never. The server only listens inside your local network: your movies travel directly from your Mac to your TV. The only external call is the metadata lookup (title and poster), which sends nothing but the file name.
What’s the difference between Lite and Pro?
Lite is free and made for trying it out: 3 hours of streaming per day and watermarked recordings. Pro unlocks everything — unlimited streaming, clean recordings, full AI and downloads — with a single payment.
